In an effort to remain true to our vision of BEing THE CHURCH, we want to do a little something different this year as Halloween rolls around. Rather than simply handing out candy from our homes, or gathering a bunch of trunks together (although there is not anything wrong with either) we want to engage with our neighbors in a way that will hopefully breed friendships that ultimately lead to the Good News of Jesus Christ being shared, with lives being eternally impacted.
We will offering two different block parties at homes (Pulaski & Fairlawn), with the primary purpose of getting to know family living within a close proximity of each block. At each of the parties, we will be offering food, games, pumpkin carving, more.
The long term goal of the Block Party vision is for Northstar folks (& other believers) to focus on investing in relationships with their neighbors beyond Halloween. To help provide more context for our block parties, check out this blog post from Halloween on Mission.
If you have any questions, or would like to partner with us on this endeavor, please email Ashley Bowman. We are already praying that this will be the first step of some folks to discover the riches of the love of Christ, through His people simply cooking a burger & dressing up!
